Overview
When ERP and SAP are integrated, data such as sales orders, invoices, and inventory updates should flow automatically between the two systems. This guide helps you confirm the integration is working and identify if data is out of sync.
Signs That Synchronization May Have Failed
- A document created in ERP does not appear in SAP after 10+ minutes
- Inventory counts in ERP and SAP do not match
- An error notification appears in the integration dashboard
- Users report that their transactions are "missing" in one system
How to Check Sync Status
- Check the integration log — Open the integration application and navigate to the Logs or History section. Look for entries with status ERROR or FAILED.
- Verify the service is running — See the article Why is my ERP integration service not running, and how do I fix it? to confirm the service is active.
- Check the last successful sync time — In the integration dashboard, confirm when the last successful sync occurred. If it was more than 15 minutes ago under normal operation, the service may have paused.
- Manually trigger a resync — If your integration supports manual triggers, locate the Sync Now or Resend button for the affected records and trigger them one at a time to confirm they process correctly.
Common Causes and Fixes
- Service stopped: Restart the pm2 service (see Troubleshooting guide).
- Network or VPN issue: Confirm both the ERP and SAP servers can reach each other. Contact your IT team if unsure.
- Duplicate document number: If SAP rejects a document due to a duplicate number, the record will fail silently. Check the error log for this message and renumber or void the duplicate.
- Configuration change: If an SAP or ERP setting was recently changed (e.g., company code, warehouse mapping), the integration may need to be reconfigured. Contact BeOne support.
